March Journal Quilt

I used my manipulated photo from a couple of posts back as the centerpiece for my March journal quilt. I wanted to underscore the cat-eyes in both figures.

This is the back side.

Love the glasses! Had a pair myself at one time. I like the fabrics, too, they go so well with the black & white manipulated photo.

This is a very enjoyable piece. I love the way the eyes repeat and the theme of cat's eyes.

The gold in both sets of "eyebrows" is quite clever!
I think the controlled palette serves the piece well, too....

This is just the "cats meow". A nice fun piece.

So cute and clever, the stars embellishing the eyes and the pink heart shaped lips and cat tag, then the fish on the back fabric. Love it. Wonderful color scheme. And most important, what a pretty daughter. You are definitely creative.

I am just getting to have a quilting cat around. My dd's cat is so loveable and likes to climb on my sewing machine and scare me to death when she starts to put her paw around the needle! I love your 'cat eyes' and the feline is great, too!

Barbara,
Simply adorable! I must definitely try printing photo manipulations onto fabric. Love the black-white-pink palette, and just the right amount of embellishment! Looks like you are a black & white print fabric collector also. It was fun to recognize several b&w prints from my stash.
