The Color of 2009

I saw this news report about the anticipated trendy color of 2009. It says that bright yellow will be hot.

I've always liked yellow, and I've noticed that a wide range of shades haven't been widely available in recent years, so I'm glad we'll likely see more yellows in the near future.

This shade looks like butterscotch, and it kind of reminds me of our old 70s friend Harvest Gold. Can burnt orange and avocado green be far behind?

That's a very exciting yellow. Reminds me of the color of egg yolks. Yellow is the color of the solar plexus chakra.

Great! I love yellow; there are currently two yellow rooms in my house. How nice to be ahead of the curve. Actually I liked avacado too, but I hope mauve never comes back.

Would you believe we still have a Harvest Gold stove? No one seems to make a double oven anymore, so we'll have this one till it quits working, I guess. Once I wanted to get some brown shoes and was told in all seriousness, "Brown isn't a color." Debra said it best: what goes around comes around.

Yellow is cheerful so it would be great to have more of it around!

i'm delighted to hear that yellow is the color of the year. It's always been a favorite of mine. Kind of like liquid sunshine! Hugs, Finn

Maybe this means we have some optimism in store for us! Megan and I are sitting by the fire knitting--I'm taking a break from another scarf waiting for the water to boil, and Megan has picked up a hat she started last year. Anything before finishing up those last-minute papers due for her! Blackie is having a hard time understanding the rain and cold weather--in/out--in/out. Poor boy.

Economy Block and Large-Scale Fabrics

Recenlty I decided to take out and use the stash of Asian-themed fabrics I'd set aside.  Many of them are large scale, so I wanted to fe...
